Yes. :) Like I said, "up-picker" is in my mind the correct form. Try as I might, I simply cannot hear a word like "picker-up" as a noun. I don't know why, since the gerund "picking up" is perfectly natural to me, but there you have it.

As Churchill said: "This is the sort of English up with which I will not put." :) You can do the washing up, but the person who does it is, to me, an up-washer, not a washer-up. -Mark
