Maybe we could make something completely new relying on the practical experience and emotion words carry and do like in Chinese and make no difference in vocabulary between noun and verb, and also between process and state thus. We would have only 4 tags : 1. case *+* (*plus* case = positive) 2. case *-* (*minus* case = negative) 3. case *=* (*still* case = neutral) 4. predicate *:* 5. relative *< ]* Possible (not fixed) features would be : I hit him = '+me +he :hit' or '-me -he :hit' or =me =he :hit, etc., together written '+=-me +=-he :hit' to show the range of possibly used cases. the red dog bites me = '+dog < -it :red ] -me :bite' I see the man loose his wallet +=-me +-=this :seeimage +=-man +=-wallet :loose/lost Anybody would feel these 'cases' differently a depending on the word tagged. No logics, only feeling. This would be an interesting experiment because no common cultural background would help us construe the meaning of the sentence and we could see the language evolve naturally. What do you think of that ? Mathias ----- See the original message at http://www.egroups.com/list/conlang/?start=17431 -- Free e-mail group hosting at http://www.eGroups.com/
