They all look pretty strange to me. You got tumors, scars, teeth, lizards, bahts, scars, various types of fish or insects, mugwort, and other fairly inauspicious stuff running about. Plus, nothing in the surname that looks like a place name. I suppose, the character for "sugar cane" *could* work (don't know how it's read in Japanese), but I don't know if it's a valid surname component (though I somewhat doubt it). Back to the drawing board.... Kou
