My only comment is that Dennett makes numerous assertions which to an experienced meditator are blatently false. Granted, those assertions sound perfectly reasonable to one who has not practiced deep meditation for 30+ years, and tend to be accepted by academics more for their consistancy with materialistic monism than for any other reason. Further discussion should probably be taken to comp.ai.philosophy or sci.psychology.consciousness where I personally have debated these issues for a number of years. I'd love to debate them further in one of those forums, but I don't see the point in wasting another of my daily-limit postings on the subject. --gary
