One peculiarity of Spanish is the wide divergence in vocabulary between different regions/countries, so adopting English words is really nothing special (although I suspect the extreme samples cited above were by people who speak more English than Spanish). Is a "guagua" a baby or a bus? And "chucho" is a light switch to Cubans, but something else to Venezuelans. And is there anybody (aside from professors from Spain) who uses the dictionary word for termite? Jeff
