Southern standard German (Austria, Bavaria, Switzerland and others) doesn't
have any glottal stop.
The voicing or unvoicing of the stops varies also between northern and
southern German. The unvoicing of the |s| in _Drahtseil_ might as well be a
coarticulatory effect.
I think that the reason why it was translated just as tightrope is that
_Drahtseilakt_ seems to be slightly lexicalized with the meaning of 'an
extremingly diffucult task'.
