TECH: Monospaced Unicode fonts?

Hi,
I'm still looking for a good *monospaced* unicode font,
preferrably including more than just Latin, Greek, Cyrillic
and IPA. I know there is FreeMono, but it comes out very
fuzzily on the screen at sizes under 16pt (at least in
v1.10, which I have) for some reason. I'd prefer the crisp
look of Courier New of course. If there aren't other such
fonts but FreeMono, what is the reason for it looking so
fuzzy and how can I make it crisper -- I have FontForge
installed, so editing fonts is no problem.
