                               Nr 1, Vol 10A
Promoting International Communication with Occidental and Rap Lin Rie.

A Special Contest:

We need a name! And, we'd like to give you a free "language" prize for
helping us choose a name.

What name?

Today, we are working on building an International Auxiliary Language
center here in Tucson. And, we want to give it a significant name. Here is
some of what the center is, or will be doing.

1. Promoting the specific International Auxiliary Languages of
Interlingue/Occidental, and Rap Lin Rie/Speedwords locally, nationally and
to the whole world.

2. To provide a center of information about the history of the
International Auxiliary Language movement.

3. To provide not only textbooks in Occidental and Speedwords, but also,
international correspondence courses, local classrooms, and audio/video
materials.

4. To provide a center for making vocabulary and grammatical decisions,
etc. for the improvement of and expansion of Occidental and Speedwords.

5. And, ultimately, to provide translations into these languages, provide
archives of world literature translated into Occidental and Speedwords, and
more. And, to encourage membership in the center for pooling knowledge and
resources for accomplishing the above.

We need a name to present to the world that would reflect this effort in
the most favorable way.

So, we would like your suggestions for names to choose from. And, if your
suggestion is selected, we will offer some simple but valuable prizes, with
a couple of choices.

First Prize: A copy of one of the very last Dutton Speedwords Dictionaries
(41 years old now and available nowhere else as far as we can find out.) A
free correspondence course (the original) with corrections via mail. Eight
lessons, plus key and two supplements (How to attain 100-120 words per
minute speed, and High Speed Note-taking in English) And, a reprint of all
the 1922 issues of Kosmoglott.

Second Prize: A choice of a Dutton Speedwords Dictionary, OR a free
correspondence course. OR, the 1922 issues of Kosmoglott.

Third Prize: A copy of the Shirt-Pocket Dictionary [Speedwords] and a copy
of "100 Speedwords with 20 Examinations" booklet.

For all who submit serious names: A copy of "100 Speedwords with 20
Examinations".

All submissions must be by private email to:Diplomat@xoommail.com. Do NOT,
please, post replies to other lists, or the list you read this letter on.

I appreciate your help with this matter.

Al l sue, & Amico,
Bob Petry, x+
