Semitic languages do the same thing, which is one of the reasons people
seem to like talking about mysterious Semitic-Celtic (look, they both end
in |-tic|! :-P and start with /sE/, if you pronounce 'Celtic' the
Bostonian way :-P ) "connections".
for example:
L- "to" + -I "me" = LI "to me"
MA3A "with" + -KUM "y'all (m.)" = MA3AKUM "with y'all (m.)" (Arabic)
BIL3ADEY "without" + -HA "her" = BIL3ADEHA "without her" (Hebrew)
DI "of" + -EYH "him" = DIDEYH "his" (Aramaic)
