not specifically, but i did see the similarity. it's actually, as a mentioned, an attempt to get the usualy writing systems ( see http://www.geocities.com/bnathyuw/images/bac1.gif ) to fit into a horizontal format . . . but i like coincidences ! And I noticed the similarity to AvantGarde

it's essentially rotations of 6 c ( o and v, with little extra bits added where necessary . . .

i don't seem to be typical of this list in that i use corel draw to make fonts. not sure it's the best software ( actually, i know it isn't . . . you can't reedit a glyph once you've saved it ; you have to install the font, import the glyph, convert it to curves, THEN jiggle around with it before overwriting the previous copy ! ), but it's what i've got, and it has the nice property that you can keep all the glyphs you're using on your workspace and then export them to the ttf file once you've finished with them. anyway, i've got a copy of it from work, so i didn't have to pay or cope with 'register now or else . . . ' messages. bn
